We had an unpleasant blocked drain on our property and called a plumber. He visited, dropped a camera down a pipe, and told us it was blocked, stating that it would cost $ 5,000+ to fix, as he would need to dig up the driveway. Naturally, we wanted a second opinion so we called Draintech Melbourne. Draintech arrived on the same day, dropped a camera down the same pipe, and informed us that the problem was on the council's side, then called Yarra Valley Water on our behalf. Yarra Valley Water arrived within 50 minutes and fixed the problem at no charge. Draintech's call-out charge was very reasonable. Thank you to Draintech for your honesty and for guiding us in the right direction. Your prompt and honest response has saved us a great deal of stress and money - so great to see there are some very honest tradespeople in Australia. Highly recommended.

I'm really not sure what to think about this company. Initially I called them because I saw so many positive reviews. I had been experiencing stormwater issues and wanted to get the lines around my house inspected. I booked in a day for an inspection and high pressure clean out to see what was causing the problem. I understand that sometimes tradies might run late because they may get caught up at another job, but this technician was about 4 hours late. When he finally arrived he inspect the stormwater and attempted to clean some of the pipes out. He could not get a good visual of the pipes on his camera and concluded that the problem was at my legal point of discharge. He told me I would need to call the council to find out where that was and it was most likely in my neighbours yard. After several calls to the council and leading to a dead end I finally convinced the council to send out a member of their plumbing team to locate the lpd as they could not find any site plans to indicate where my lpd was. The street cleaning team were able to get a visual of my stormwater pipe which appeared to be obstructed. I called draintech back and sent them the images. I explained the situation to them. Long story short, the company owner could not be bothered locating the pipe despite me explaining to him that the council plumber offered to help him locate it as he knew how frustrating it could be for plumbers to work on council assets. It was obviously not worth their time despite me paying them 380 for the initial inspection. I tried calling a few other plumbers but all of them wanted to charge me 300 to 400 again just to have a look. I'm happy to say I finally got Bree from Vixen plumbing to come out, locate the pipe in my neighbours yard with no council help required. She dug it up by hand and repaired it in a day. I got the impression my job was thrown in the too hard basket by Draintech. Maybe they have done great work for other clients but my experience was extremely frustrating and quite frankly I felt like I wasted my time and money.
